| Summary: | Partially printed slave registry certificate "cédula rural" completed by hand, numbered "folio num. 248." Records the ownership of "Luis" by D. Felipe Casator in the Pueblo de Utuado, Departamento de Arecibo. Includes a section with physical description of the enslaved person including age [42], height, color, hair, beard, eyes, nose, mouth, some of which are completed with "negro". A 1 peseta stamp of the "cédula rural" fixed on verso. Bears signatures of the owner "El dueño", the notary "El Registrador", and an official "El Comisario." The document was issued two years before slavery was abolished in Puerto Rico, on March 22, 1873.
