Description
Summary:Roberto Longhi, edited by Giovanni Agosti, collects the writings that in almost forty years Briganti has dedicated to the great scholar: a sort of public examination of conscience on the nature of the relationship between teacher and pupil. The collected texts cover the arc that runs from the celebration of Longhi, in 1955, on the pages of the Literary Fair, in which Briganti celebrated the master in the company of Cecchi, Toesca, Contini, Bassani, Bertolucci, Volpe, Pallucchini, Soldati, up to the many interventions published on the pages of la Repubblica, a newspaper to which Briganti has dedicated decades of his activity, trying to develop an accessible and clear style of information, not in vain controversy, but always characterized by a strong civil tension. In this sample of scriptures there is no lack of narrative evidence, in which the use of dreams is another way to face the shadow of the Master. In the background flows the panorama of the history of art in Italy in the second half of the twentieth century, between publishing, universities and an inexorable, progressive loss of cultural authority.--Finestre sull'Arte.
