| Item Description: | Map shows orginal land grant to Jean Jose Acosta (8 leagues) and land owners of northern Milam County in 1883, including Abigal Fokes, Daniel Roberson, Maria Josefa Delgado, Sterling C. Robertson, J.W. Smith, D.E. Holsclaw, Charles Cronea, Masillon Farley, and William McClain. Map shows rivers, creeks, and the International-Great Northern Railroad (I&GN). Paper is embossed with the seal of the Texas General Land Office. Includes text: "General Land Office Austin Tex. Nov 20th 1883. I, W. C. Walsh Commissioner of the General Land Office do hereby certify that the above Sketch shows the position of the survey thereon represented, as they appear on the map of Milam County now in use in this office, with the addition of the length of lines, expressed in figures taken from the original field notes now on file in this office.
