| Item Description: | Purporting to be by Eginhardus, Abbot of Seligenstadt, but in fact a contemporary satire by Delarivière Manley, written as a continuation of her "Secret memoirs ... From the New Atalantis" and later issued as the second part of that work. Title within double rule. The text is continuous despite the pagination; pages 346, 378 are misnumbered 463, 478. The final four unnumbered pages, "A key to the third volume of the Atalantis" was probably issued separately later, but includes the misnumbering. The Cushing Library/Rare Books copy was acquired as part of the Lois Goddard Morrison Collection of Eighteenth Century Literature. |
