Summary:Michael Laird, bookseller, description: Huge popular manual for anatomy, health care, breeding, obstetrics, etc. for all pets, being - as the title indicates - a "medical home" for the treatment of all animal diseases, with special regard to home remedies and homeopathy. Published at the turn of the century, this handsomely produced German veterinary manual, profusely illustrated with hundreds of line engravings and 16 chromolithographs, is complete with the atlas volume, containing all seven movable anatomical plates in lithography of the horse, cow, sheep, hog, dog, cock, and goose. An impressive set in excellent condition, suitable for exhibition and study, rare thus. Added: Large folded ephemeral sheet: "Trächtigkeits- und Brüte-Kalender der nützlichsten Haustiere fur alle Jahre von Gotthilf Ensslin, Reutlingen" (i.e. Gestation Calendar by Gotthilf Esslin of Reitlingen), probably a unique survival.
