| Item Description: | Not the same edition as others described in OCLC; number of plates different, size different. Title and name from cover; name printed as signature facsimile. Date derived from date of birth of one of the Thoroughbred horses, Botafogo. Bound in cream cardstock, this is an album of photographic reproductions of the estancia "Chapadmalal" in Argentina. Photographs include the house, gardens, farm buildings, pedigreed horses, shorthorn cattle, Lincoln sheep, and the activities that support the estate: haying, cattle dipping, wheat threshing, etc. The livestock are photographed in groups and as individual portraits that list prizes won. Two of the folded plates are maps of the estate. 4 leaves are Thoroughbred horse pedigrees printed on tissue. The pedigrees go back five generations and are for Craganour (born 1910), Botafogo (born 1914), Amsterdam (born 1907), and Chili II (born 1908). |
