It shows that the process for both commercial and breeding seed production starts with deliberate and controlled crossing of parental lines, followed by bunch harvesting, removal of the fruit mesocarp and the delivery of fresh, ungerminated seed to a seed production facility. These are then followed by subsequent seed germination protocols.
