This edition, unlike the first, mentions fish ponds on the title page. The date of the first edition is uncertain but the earliest advertisement found for the first edition of this work in 17th-18th Century Burney Collection Newspapers is from 1781. From manuscript dates in copies I have examined the date of this book must be after 1779 but before 1781. This is confirmed by the dates of the books in the publisher's adverts in this 2nd edition.
