Description
Summary:Niall Kenny description: Seems to be very rare. Only 20 parts were ever published (the part numbers occur at the bottom of every 8th leaf). Typographical errors: no page number on p27; p 39 given as '3', 64 as '50', 144 as '116', 155 as '151'; signatures only present on a few leaves but enough to establish the sequence. Another copy examined of the 20 part issue had no plates but suspect this may have been a binding error as 2 of the plates here state at the bottom that they were issued with parts 11 and 12 of 'The Horse' ('Eclipse' and 'Flying Childers' respectively). These plates have a different publisher, e.g. 'Flying Childers' has "Published by J. Hamlet & Co. Horse Office Wellington St. Strand. Delivered gratis with the12 number of The Horse a few India proofs 6d each". Printer's imprint: "W. Tyler, 4, Ivy-Lane, St. Paul's." but in the gutter of some issues there is a different imprint, e.g. issue 10 has "Printed by W. Molineux, 19 Rolls Buildings, Fetter Lane - Published every Saturday by J. Hamlet, 12, Wellington St. -No. 10, price three-pence, April 9, 1834"
