| Summary: | Niall Kenny description: Rare book; copy examined was in original full sheep. The preliminary pages are difficult to collate as the title page would seem to be page 'v'. This copy seems to have two blank leaves before the title page but it is not impossible that there should be a half-title, as in the 1809 UK edition, and the collation has been put together on that basis. Some US libraries state there should be a half-title (WSU), however in addition some indicate that leaf A1 is blank (University of Virginia). There are no pages missing as the text is complete and copies exactly the 1809 UK printing. Despite the Worldcat listing Michigan does not hold a copy of the book. Signature error: leaf 3 of each gathering marked as '2', e.g. B3 marked as 'B2' Printer's imprint: "W. McCulloch, Printer." is at the bottom of the title page. |
