| Abstract: | ABSTRACT: The effect of meclofenamic acid on osteoarthritis and navicular disease in the horse was studied. Alkaline phosphate levels in horses with osteoarthritis and/or navicular disease were found to be lower than controls. Test horses showed slightly lower levels while on the drug than they did on pre and post drug evaluations. During the administration of the drug there was an average decrease in the degree of pain. Meclofenamic acid did not effect hemoglobin, packed cell volume, RBC, WBC, BUN, urine pH and specific gravity. |
