Description
Summary:Niall Kenny description: Scarce; first published in 1676. There seem to have been two issues in 1683; this one and with O. Blagrave included as publisher (ESTC R30927: see Wellcome, BL, Yale, Harvard). However the title pages are clearly different on these two issues, with the one here having the same title as the earlier 1676 editions (mentioning 35 years experience). Thus this printing clearly has precedence over the other 1683 printing. Despite this the two books, with the exception of the title pages, are identical (based on examination of ESTC R30927 on EEBO). This book is often found bound together with a separate anonymous treatise on oxen published by Obadiah Blagrave (also 1683- see JC's collection) but is it possible that this other book is only ever bound together with the ESTC R30927 copy? The title page here is the same as that illustrated on p132 of McDonald's "Agricultural Writers".
