"Tractatus de peste" (pages [405-462]) has special title page. Lower margins of first 4 leaves frayed. Translations of the Chirurgie (including the third part, Anatomia practica) and of Pest-beschryving. A different translation of the same works appeared in Leyden later in the same year with the imprint "Joh. à Gelder." The Library of Congress has a variant issue of the present edition. It apparently appeared later in 1672. Inserted after page [12] is a gathering of 12 leaves containing an epistle by Gerardus Blasius and "Notanda in editione Gelderiana," pointing out the superior features of the "Hackiana" edition. Microfilmed for preservation. |
