Description
Summary:"Natal Szeifert's new novel, What's with You, Nothing? it is about Hungary in the first half of the two thousand and ten years; from here, through the childhood and adolescent memories of the protagonists, he sometimes looks back to the previous thirty years or so. The novel is a story of a random friendship in which the (main) characters drift into events and come into direct or indirect contact with sin. Through them, we get to know Budapest better, the city with two surfaces that we use (up and down). The lives of Seifert's figures, their secrets lurking behind the surface, are slowly being revealed. They are the aspiring-aspiring little men who 'go down' to the countryside with their parents every leap year, to get away from the awkward questions, the 'well-off' thirties and forties who sit down in the evening in a pub called Mexico where several generations meet, but otherwise 'there is nothing with them.' Although Seifert's writer universe and textual world can be rotated (like the Rubik's Cube often used for therapeutic purposes by one of the characters in the book), the stream-like narrative style and great sense of humor make the book extremely readable."--Moly.
