"In one way, the correspondence of Gaylord and David is a daybook chronicling the seasons of the year in Wisconsin and Wales. In another way, it is a diary, with production notes, of editing, printing, and producing some important books. It is also a log of two personal journeys ... Still another important story is Gaylord and David's continuing dialogue about their current printing projects and the implications of their individual printing decisions"--Pages 7-8.
Item Description:Limited edition of 200 numbered copies. Half of the edition was printed and bound by Midnight Paper Sales, and the other half by Solmentes Press. The content is consistent throughout the edition, but each press used a unique cover design for its respective half of the edition.
"Finely illustrated with wood engravings by Schanilec, including a magnificent foldout panorama of the Welsh countryside, and color linocuts by David Esslemont. There are also tipped-in original leaves throughout from books produced by each press.
