| Item Description: | A collection of digitized images of decorative papers created from the seventeenth century to the twentieth century. The majority of images depict various types of marbled papers, in addition to other varieties of decorative papers, such as wrapping papers, paste papers, gilt papers, embossed papers, sprinkled papers, and others. Techniques represented include: laid lines, wire lines, block printing, dyeing and folding, watermarks, and more. Decorative papers were created in various countries, including England, Itay, Japan, Germany, France, the Netherands, and the United States. This collection was previously owned by Sidney E. Berger and Michele V. Cloonan, and is housed in the Cushing Memorial Library and Archives of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. |
