| Item Description: | Together with a page and a half of notes in Mew's hand in ink over a pencil draft, possibly a copy of a portion of a letter from Walter de la Mare to Cockerell concerning Mew, headed at the top by "de la Mare to SCC" [Cockerell] and dated 11 December 1927, reading in part: "I enjoyed the lunch immensely somehow my impression[?] of CM was totally different from the reality. I remember all her talk but when I try to repeat some of the stories she told me somehow I lose all the essence. She just knows humanity -- one of the rarest things in the world. I wish there had been an opportunity for a little more talk with Mrs Hardy but it was a great joy to see her too..." In a board portfolio with label inscribed by Frederick B. Adams, Jr.; also contains a related note in his hand, and a photocopy of a signed 2001 certificate from Ministere de la Culture et de la Communication.
