| Summary: | Only known copy of a Mexican military manual for officers, printed and published in Mexico City. The manual gives officers instructions on how to command, divided in 12 types of commands. It was made during a time of great unrest in Mexican politics leading up to the Santa Anna dictatorship, causing the military garrison in Mexico City to be on high alert. At the time of publication Mariano Arista was still president but under threat from the revolt that aimed to return Santa Anna to power. A well-organized Mexico City garrison was an absolute necessity for Arista in his hopes to stop the revolt, which he was ultimately unsuccessful in. |
