Photographs of Texas politicians and scenes of the Texas border on verso. Text on verso. On verso, in lower right margin: "87." Map was issued in the January 1941 issue of Fortune Magazine. "The manner in which this map was made can best be referred to as a photo-inlay map that combines artistry of Antonio Petruccelli with a photographic images of a physical diagram of Texas. Color coded pins representing natural gas, oil, sulfur, and various crop and livestock agriculture are meticulously placed throughout a board in the shape of Texas. When the image was taken, the lighting casts numerous shadows across the map which add to the overall visual effect. The process is repeated in a smaller inset map that locates Army Posts across the state colored by geographical region." --Vendor's description. Cartographic material. |
