Description
Summary:In this book you will find everything you ever wanted to know about the myth of Juliet in Verona. The book tells the story of Juliet's balcony, of its conception, of being medieval and at the same time twentieth century, of representing the ideal place for the meeting between the two unfortunate Veronese lovers, protagonists of William Shakespeare's tragedy. Emblem of love that becomes eternal because it stops in the bud, the perfect set for a "postcard" love, the balcony lends itself to a thousand variations between art, cinema, advertising, objects, you find playful, kitsch and trash. Eight decades after its installation by Antonio Avena in 1940 and over forty after the opening of Juliet's House to the public in 1973 on the initiative of Licisco Magagnato, the restoration of the balcony was an opportunity for a multi-handed research with seriousness and lightness together.
