Description
Summary:In wintertime fifteen photographers visited some of the contemporary architecture projects that have put Chile on the map for the past three decades. A collection of new images presents the uniqueness of these works that have shaped the recent imagery and visibility of this area of Chile's cultural development. The photographs hover over details, shapes, textures, lights and colors, in spaces, landscapes or natural environments. This new perspective of these constructions highlights their contributions, intrinsic value and possible contemporary trends that affect the local culture. This book is published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition within the framework of the MEXTRÓPOLI 2020 Architecture and City Festival. Photographers include: Aryeh Kornfeld, Bleda y Rosa, Cristóbal Palma, David Bestué, Erieta Attali, Felipe Fontecilla, Guy Wenborne, Ignacio Acosta, Iwan Baan, Leonardo Finotti, Louise Oates, Pezo von Ellrichshausen, Roland Halbe, Stefano Graziani and Xavier Ribas. "The exhibition "Winter: images of contemporary Chilean architecture" presents -through interdisciplinary works- a set of built works in Chile that can be observed and analyzed from the cinema and photography, creating new pieces of visual and audiovisual art. The exhibition brings outstanding examples of the last thirty years, including initiatives in fields such as diverse as intervention in heritage buildings, public architecture, landscape architecture and collective housing." --Pages [2-3]
