An ordinance of the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament: : authorizing the Committee of the Militia of the City of London, and all deputy-lieutenants, committees, high-constables and petty-constables in the severall divisions in all the counties under the power of the Parliament, to make search for all souldiers that have been or shall be listed or imprested to serve for the defence of the kingdome, under the command of Sir Thomas Fairfax. And that they forthwith repaire to their colours within six dayes after the publishing of this ordinance, upon paine of death. Die Jovis 24. April 1645. Ordered by the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, that this ordinance be forthwith printed, and published in all market towns and parish churches in the severall counties under the power of the Parliament. A declaration or ordinance of the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, : that the committee for the militia of London shal have full power and authority to raise new regiments of voluntiers aswell [sic] within the said city and liberties as without; and them to traine, and put in readinesse, for the suppression of all rebellions, insurrections, and invasions, that may happen within the said city, and parts adjacent, and for the safe guarding thereof. For which, the persons so imployed shall be saved harmlesse by the power of Parliament, and their service taken as acceptable testimonies of their reall intentions for the good and safety of the Common-wealth in these times of imminent danger.
