An apologie of Iohn Earle of Bristol : consisting of tvvo tracts. In the first, he setteth downe those motives and tyes of religion, oaths, lavves, loyalty, and gratitude, which obliged him to adhere unto the King in the late unhappy wars in England. In the second, he vindicateth his honour and innocency from having in any kind deserved that injurious and mercilesse censure, of being excepted from pardon or mercy either in life or fortunes.

Great Britains miserie, with the causes and cure. : Described, first, as it is from the justice of God, the author for the punishment of sin, especially eight capitall crimes. Secondly, as it is from the injustice and malice of men, the instruments for their particular and private ends. Wherein is answered severall objections and cavills against the lawfulnesse and necessitie of raysing armes by the Parliament and kingdome. Shewing the means to appease the anger of God, & to suppresse the injustice and malice of wicked men. As also, incouragement, and reasons perswasive, to believe that God will give a seasonable and glorious deliverance.
