| Item Description: | Dated: Given at Our Court at Whitehal, the Thirtieth day of May, in the Twelfth Year of Our Reign. "On his restoration the King desires to discourage those that would 'prevent that reconciliation and union of hearts and affections' so necessary. Others show their loyalty by drinking to the King's health in taverns, tippling houses, and debauches. All persons of honour are to discourage these proceedings"-- compare Steele.
