| Item Description: | Editor's note "To the reader" signed: I.S., id est John Spenser. In fact books 1-5 only, plus the Tractates. The title page is engraved by William Hole. Signatures: A-3H⁶ 3I. The first leaf is blank. Book 5 has separate letterpress title page dated 1616. The tractates, printed in 1622, begin with a note "To the reader" on second p. 453. They include a reprint of "A supplication made to the Privy Counsel" by Walter Travers. "The ansvvere of Mr. Richard Hooker to a supplication, preferred by Mr. Walter Trauers, to the Honorable Lords of the Priuie Councell", "A learned discourse of iustification, workes, and how the foundation of faith is ouerthrowne", "Fiue learned sermons", and "Tvvo sermons vpon part of S. Iudes Epistle" each have separate title page dated 1622. Includes indexes. This record contains copies consisting of mixed STC 13716 and 13717; signatures and pagination above correspond to parts 1-5 STC 13716 and Tractates STC 13717.
