| Item Description: | Title from embroidered text; line from Spenser's marriage ode "Epithalamion" originally published in 1595. Images seem to be copied from the color plates by Rose Le Quesne featured in "Stories from the Faerie queen" by Jean Lang, published between 1900 and 1910. The 6 panels are from the stories: Una and the lion, St. George and the dragon, Britomart and the magic mirror, The quest of Sir Guyon, Pastorella, Cambell and Triamond. Only St. George and the dragon deviates significantly from Le Quesne's illustration. |
