Facsimile of Map number 77-B in the Wheeler atlas, issued May 7, 1877, part of an official project, known as the United States Geographical Surveys West of the One Hundredth Meridian, in which yearly separate expeditions were sent out, assigned to a specific sector. Relief shown by hachures and spot heights. "Expeditions of 1874, 1875 & 1876 under the command of 1st. Lieut. Geo. M. Wheeler, Corps of Engineer, U.S. Army". Also lists executive officers, field astronomers and topographical assistants. "Issued May 7th, 1877"--Lower left border. Introductory text by Jack Rittenhouse. |
