| Item Description: | "This edition of 235 copies is set in 13-point Poliphilus, and Ariston display types, and printed at Whittington on Zerkall mould-made paper. The pochoir reproductions and the black-and-white images are printed digitally by Promprint. 40 'A' copies are bound by the Fine Book Bindery in full Oasis and are accompanied by 22 items of Weather Bird ephemera found in Vance's workshop after his death, and mostly bound up in his simple style by the Fine Book Bindery; and also by a facsimile edition of Jazz Instruments, & a portfolio of 13 facsimiles of Vance's letters; all contained in a leather-backed solander box. 40 'B' copies are bound in half-leather and one of Vance's pattern papers, and are accompanied by 10 items of ephemera, and a facsimile of Mistreee Mary; all in a slipcase. 155 'C' copies are half-bound in cloth and one of Vance's pattern papers, in a slipcase. The letter in the back board from Vance to John and Jeannie O'Connor is dated 11 January 1992. ... The patterned paper used on the bindings and portfolios is from Vance's Patterned Papers (1996)."--Colophon. "Fair wind" (1 folded sheet) is a tipped-in reproduction containing an excerpt from Two years before the mast by Richard Henry Dana Jr. Two leaves of facsimiles in pocket inside back board. Issued in slipcase.
