For over 60 of the authors, an engraved portrait (various sizes) detached from other sources is mounted, usually facing the entry. Multiple portraits taken from John Thane's British Autography: a collection of the Facsimiles of the Handwriting of Royal and Illustrious Personages, with their Authentic Portraits (1788-93), and from Edmund Lodge's Portraits of Illustrious Personages of Great Britain (1834-1835). Sources of detached leaves identified by bookseller.
