| Item Description: | The Cushing Library/Science Fiction copy is part of the Maps of Imaginary Places Collection. "Jahrgang 1927, Tefei 3." "Leitung: Prof. Paul Langhans." "Petermanns Geogr. Mitteilungen." Map depicts the location of Atlantis and the Citadel of Poseidon in present-day Tunisia. Dr. Paul Borchardt, the maps creator, believed that the Shott el Jerid swamp, thought by many to be the site of the ancient Lake Tritonis, was in fact the "Atlantic Sea" referred to by Plato. Includes locaiton map showing the North African Coast. |
