| Item Description: | Title enclosed in decorative border; decorated initials. Signatures: a⁸-b⁸ c⁶ The "Paean Virgini matri" begins on recto of leaf 14. Last page blank. "Concio de puero Iesu is a homily on the Christ child written by Erasmus for use in the school newly-founded in 1510 by his friend John Colet (1467-1519) at St. Paul's Cathedral in London, found here in a Cologne edition of 1525. It was designed to be read aloud by a schoolboy in front of an audience of his peers. The child Jesus is projected as a model both of piety and learning, worthy of emulation by the students."--Adapted from vendor's information.
