Description
Item Description:The Chihuahuan Desert is an ecoregion of North America that includes most of western Texas, southern New Mexico, parts of southeastern Arizona and most of north central Mexico. The Chihuahuan is one of the planet's most biologically diverse deserts. Marfa is the county seat of Presidio County in far west Texas. Marfa sits on the Marfa Plateau, a vast upland grassland surrounded by ancient volcanic fields. The Marfa garden has been developed over the past twelve years on an acre of land in the far northwest corner of town. Homeowners Jim Fissel and Jim Martinez selected specific native and drought-tolerant plants for each area of the garden.
