The Club presented a portion of the edition to the Western History Association on the occasion of its Annual Meeting, Sacramento, October, 1998. The series was edited by Robert J. Chandler and designed and printed by Patrick Reagh Printers, Inc. The text type is a digitized version of Monotype Garamond 156. All type was printed letterpress. The illustrations were reproduced by photo-offset and direct-to-press digital color. The cover illustration is reproduced from a pictorial letter sheet How the California mines are worked, published by Anthony & Baker, San Francisco.
