Summary:In 1849, Domingo Ghirardelli sailed from Peru to California and, after a try at mining, established a store in Stockton. He later established a store in San Francisco. In the 1860s, he purchased the Heyneman, Pick & Co. woolen mill in the Black Point area for his chocolate, spice, and coffee business. He later added to the red brick buildings. In the early 1960s, the Ghirardelli Company moved its chocolate making elsewhere. This booklet is part of a proposal to reuse the buildings as a multi-shop mall and entertainment center. Well illustrated.
