Description
Abstract:This paper presents the formulation and methods of solution for the geometrically nonlinear analysis of shells of revolution under both symmetric and asymmetric loadings. The static solution is obtained through Newton-Raphson and incremental approaches. Four methods are tried for the dynamic solution with Houbolt's method proving to be the most suitable. Examples are presented for some linear and highly nonlinear problems.
