| Summary: | The Marathon Marathon Project took place at the Acropolis Museum in Athens between the afternoon of Sunday 31 October and the early morning of Monday 1 November 2010. Hans Ulrich Obrist and Nadja Argyropoulou invited numerous Greek and non-Greek contributors from many different disciplines to talk about the turbulent present, share their intuitions about the future and reflect on their understanding of the past. The project was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Cultre and Tourism with the DESTE Foundation of Contemporary Art as creative collaborator. This DESTE publication archives the project's proceedings. The book also includes in-depth interviews, conducted at the same time, with two renowned figures of Greek culture, the poet Nanos Valaoritis and the aritst Vlassis Caniaris. |
