Description
Summary:Lithographic stone with images for several numbered forms on both sides.
Item Description:Title devised by cataloger.
Image is right reading, not in reverse as this stone was used on an offset press. The process is 'offset' because the plate does not come in direct contact with the paper, instead the image is transferred to a roller. The image is picked up off the stone reversing it and then laid down on the paper reversing it again. So the image is reversed twice, and appears on the final sheet the same way round as on the stone.
"400"--Edge.
On one side: bond for one thousand dollars issued by the Pickering Company, in Kanas City, Missouri (names W. R. Pickering, [president], W. A. Pickering, [vice president and general manager], and T. M. Barham [secretary]); other side: [partial?] note issued by South Texas Commercial Bank of Houston, Texas; letterhead for A.T. Vick Company, Houston, Texas "distributors of Stephen's "Salient" Six-Apperson eight automobiles, federal tires, Gould batteries"; logo for Republic Supply Company.
