Satirically addressed to Sir Richard Steele.
The pseudonym is probably meant as an expansion of "Sir J. Baker, knight" (sometimes erroneously identified as James Baker, theological publisher, or John Baker, publisher of the St. James and Whitehall journals), the pseudonym under which Pope wrote "God's revenge against punning". Probably not by Pope; doubtfully ascribed to John Gay.
The Cushing Library/Rare Books copy was acquired as part of the Lois Goddard Morrison Collection of Eighteenth Century Literature.
