Description
Summary:The body of a boy with a bag of land in his country, Eritrea in his pocket; that of another, coming from Ghana, wearing a library card; the remains of a child who still wears a jacket whose internal seam conceals the school report written in Arabic and French. They are the bodies of the victims of the Mediterranean, who died trying to get to our country on ramshackle boats, which tell how one can "die of hope". Identity was also denied to many of these victims. The humanitarian emergency of migrants crossing the Mediterranean has returned tens of thousands of corpses to European beaches, more than half of which have never been identified. The book tells, through the experience of a coroner, the attempt of a country to give a name to these victims forgotten by everyone, and how these bodies, more eloquent of the living, witness the violence and despair of our time--Back cover.
