| Item Description: | To repay for the heavy costs of World War One bonds were printed in September 1922 in Germany during the start of the extreme hyperinflation of German currency that made it crash in 1923, and completely replaced in 1924. "April/Oktober"--At head of sheet. Bond ms. signed by Kontrollbeamter; facsimile signed by G. Böss, Oberbürgermeister and E. Karding, Kämmerer, 30 September 1922. Each coupon also facsimile signed, "By virtue of the resolutions of the municipal authorities of October 29th 1921 and November 28th 1921 concerning the issue of a loan of 480 million marks approved by the administrative President of Berlin, the municipality of the City of Berlin binds itself on the part of the City to each and every bearer of this Bond in the sum, non-callable by the creditor, of 20 000 marks to bear interest at the rate of four per cent per annum." |
