Description
| Abstract: | A simple technique for determining scores to be assigned to ordered categorical data is developed. The scores are derived by considering a canonical decomposition of the Pearson chi-squared statistic for testing goodness-of-fit in the k-sample setting. The scores are shown to lead to tests which are highly efficient in detecting both location and dispersion effects. |
