Audrey Marie Munson (June 8, 1891 - February 20, 1996) was an American artist's model and film actress, considered "America's First Supermodel,"and variously known as "Miss Manhattan", the "Panama-Pacific Girl", the "Exposition Girl" and "American Venus". She was the model or inspiration for more than 12 statues in New York City and was the first American movie star to appear fully nude in film, in Inspiration (1915), appearing in four silent films. The Cushing Library/Women & Gender Studies copy was acquired as part of the Antonio C. LaPastina and Dale Rice Collection. |
