The proceedings and correspondence, relating to certain articles of accusation, which were exhibited under the authority of the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury, against the principal and resident surveyor, and the presidents of the Inland Office; founded on a conviction that the mismanagement of the inland department of the General Post-Office, among numerous other ill consequences, exposes its revenues to a waste exceeding one hundred thousand pounds sterling per annum : Including, also, a general representation of the partial and defective manner in which the business of the inland department has been conducted by those officers, ever since the abolition of the appointment of comptroller of the inland department, which took place in the year 1795. The principal vocal parts by Mr. Corfe, Miss Hooper, and others, consisting of a large band of vocal and instrumental performers. Between the acts, a concerto on the organ by Mr. Langdon, and a solo on the violin by Mr. Tewksberry.
St. John's Church, Manchester. On Monday the 7th of January next, will be rung, at this church, a compleat round peal of eight bells, by any set of ringers, who have been used to six bells only; for the following prizes; viz.
At Play-House prices. Oratorios & selections of sacred music. At the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden. The season will commence on Friday next, with a performance of sacred music.
