The Cushing Library/Laughlin Collection copy contains several marks on censorship. At the bottom of the title page is a note, dated Naples, June 20, 1587, that reads: "lege potest" ("it may be read"), and the signature of the censor. Throughout the book, the name of the commentator, Joachim Camerarius, and of the printer, Johann Herwagen, have been marked out due to their Protestant sympathies.
