The Gentleman's practical farrier : Or, The traveller's pocket companion. In which I. Short and concise rules are laid down for the choice of a horse. II. The proper management of him on a journey is clearly pointed out. III. The easiest, cheapest, and most expeditious method of remedying the several accidents and disorders that may befal him on the road, is given. And, IV. The mistaken notions and injudicious practices of professed farriers are fully exposed. The whole intended to enable every person to judge for himself of the disorders of his horse, on a journey more especially; and to prevent his being imposed upon by the ignorance or obstinacy of common farriers. The Gentleman or Traveller's pocket-farrier, and horesman's tutor : Directing how a horse should be used on a journey. Together with proper remedies for such misfortunes as may befall him on the road. Likewise some useful directions towards the chusing and buying of horses. As also, certain rules to know the age of any horse; with instructions whereby the buyer may (if carefully observ'd) prevent being impos'd upon (as they too frequently are) by jockies and dealers. To which are added, several curious and very necessary observations, and the most proper and valuable receipts from the best authors: together with a true description of the farein amd gladers, worthy to be taken notice of by all lovers of horses.
