Description
Summary:Deborah Remington: A Life in Drawing offers a long overdue opportunity to trace the artist's career as a draftsman through a chronological progression that parallesl her more familar iconic works on canvas. Most of these drawings have not been shown publically, thus providing a fresh overview of her work from its Abstract Expressionist roots during her student years at the California School of Fine Arts in San Francisco (1949-55) to the illusionistic geometry of the 1960s and '70s, followed by a return to a gestural abstraction in the 1980s, and, in the final decades of her life, a blending of explosive gesture with her unique kind of splintered geometry.
