Elwell (from Liverpool, England), an early member of the Kipling Society (founded 1927 and publisher of The Kipling journal), who made many notes and collected numerous clippings towards a Kipling bibliography. A 19th century originally blank account book repurposed as a scrapbook with pasted-in cuttings, book jackets, advertising fliers, handwritten lists. Early entries are for 1930s and 1940's, last dated entries are for 1955. Index started but incomplete. |
