| Item Description: | Arthur Duck is a pseudonym. The bookseller's name in the imprint is fictitious. At foot of page 24: "The end of part 1". Signatures: A-D⁴. A pseudonymous parody of Stephen Duck, or, as a manuscript note in the Cambridge copy suggests, an invention by Edmund Curll to put off some odd pieces given him by WB [i.e. William Bond?] and others; see Foxon, cited below. The Cushing Library/Rare Books copy was acquired as part of the Lois Goddard Morrison Collection of Eighteenth Century Literature. |
