| Item Description: | 2 columns, 51-53 lines, red and black. Additions: A guide to Bible study, by a German monk named Menardus. With an interpretation of Hebrew names by Stephen Langton, Archbishop of Canterbury, bound at the beginning. Formerly owned by Societas Jesu, Landesberg, 1608. The Cushing Library/Laughlin Collection copy contains a newsprint bookseller's description pasted onto the front paste-down which reads, in part: "'This edition has the peculiarity of having the Psalms entitled Liber Soliliquorum; it also as the Epistle of Mesnard, and the Canons of Eusebius,'" and has "Cincinnati Jan 4 1844" written below it. This copy is in the original monastic binding. Several sections throughout are marked with "omitte" written beside in an early hand. |
