The experienced farrier, or, Farring compleated. : In two books physical and chyrurgical. Being pleasure to the gentleman, and profit to the countrey-man. In which you have the whole body, sum and substance of it, in one entire volume, in so full and ample manner, that there is little or nothing more material to be added thereto. For here is contained every thing that belongs to a true horse-man, groom, farrier, or horse-leach, viz. breeding; the manner how, the season when, the place where, the colours, marks and shapes of all stallions and mares, and what are fit for generation; the feeder, rider, keeper, ambler and buyer; as also the making of several precious drinks, suppositories, pills, purgations, scourings, ointments, salves, powders, waters, charges, balls, perfumes; and directions how to use them for all inward and outward disases [as printed]. Also the paring and shooing [as printed] of all manner of hoofes, within what point that are doth consist. The prices and vertues of most of the principal drugs, both simple and compound belonging to farring, (and where you may buy them) viz: roots, barks, woods, flowers, fruits, seeds, juices, gums, rozins, &c. As also a large table of the vertues of most simples set down alphabetically; and many hundreds of words placed one after another, for the cure of all diseases, with many new receipts of excellent use and value, never yet printed before in any author. /

The fower chiefyst offices belongyng to horsemanshippe, : that is to saye. The office of the breeder, of the rider, of the keper, and of the ferrer. In the firste parte wherof is declared the order of breding of horses. In the seconde howe to breake them, and to make theym horses of seruyce, conteyninge the whole arte of ridynge lately set forth, and nowe newly corrected and amended of manye faultes escaped in the fyrste printynge, as well touchyng the bittes as otherwyse. Thirdely howe to dyet them, as well when they reste as when they trauell by the way. Fourthly to what diseases they be subiecte, together with the causes of such diseases, the sygnes howe to knowe them, and finally howe to cure the same. Whyche bookes are not onely paynfully collected out of a nomber of authours, but also orderly dysposed and applyed to the use of thys oure coutrey. /

The true method of dieting horses : Containing many curious and useful observations concerning their marks, colour and external shape; their temper and instinct; and how they are to be governed, so as to prevent accidents and diseases. The proper method of feeding suited to their age, strength and constitution; wherein the pernicious customs, which have obtain'd among many ignorant grooms and other pretenders to horsemanship, are exposed, and their errors carefully amended.
